Basic steps for fitting vinyl
1. Ensure the surface is clean, use a cloth and some soapy water clean the surface for best adhesion (DON'T USE SOLVENTS).
2. Secure vinyl over part or panel to be wrapped using masking tape (not neccasary for small parts), cut the vinyl to the shape of the part leaving a few inches around the edges.
3. Now secure the vinyl to the panel again, gently heat the vinyl with the heat gun on low to relax the vinyl to the shape of the panel.
4. Now secure the vinyl in the middle of the panel and release the backing from the top half (or bottom) depending on which you do first. I'd do top first!
5. Lay the vinyl gently over the panel, try to get it even to reduce the risk of creasing, not start squeegeeing from the MIDDLE of the panel to the edge, always from the middle no matter how big the panel is.
6. You may need to pull the vinyl back off and lay it back on in some cases, this is why you want to gently lay it on first as mentioned above so it can be pulled back off if neccasary.
7. If the vinyl creases, gently pull it back off and heat until the crease has dissapeared. (But don't heat for too long!)
Then wait for it to cool before squeegeeing.
8. It can be a one step forward, two steps back procedure at first.
9. Once the vinyl is applied and air bubbles have been removed, squeegee over the panel and the edges again ensuring it has stuck well.
10. Finally trim the edges leaving 5mm or so then fold the edge around the part, again apply some heat and squeegee a couple of times.
